Biography of Aurélia Faudot

From the age of 16 Aurélia Faudot had the intimate conviction that she would be a photographer. From then on, she put her heart and soul into her passion. Thus, she exhibited her first artistic series “Improbable” in Aix-en-Provence during her senior year.

Aurélia then began her higher education studies while continuing to create. She participates in competitions and takes courses at the ENSP (École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie) in Arles. There she obtained the status of High Level Artist.

In 2017, at the end of these 2 years, Aurelia moved to California, in the Sillicon Valley, and became at 20 years old the right hand of a famous photographer from San Francisco, Eric Wolfinger. At the same time, she travels the roads of the American Southwest and produces several series of images that she will exhibit in 2018 in San Jose, California and since 2021 in France (Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Esparron-de-Verdon) and in Italy (Rome).

Today she is back in her native country, working to create other projects with the new look she has on the landscapes of her origins.

Aurélia Faudot’s artistic approach is inhabited by all the reflections on contemporary photography. On the one hand, she follows the path of subjective photography and gives to see through her pictures her vision of the world. That of a young woman anchored in her dreams of freedom and yet very structured in her daily reality. One will also note a plastic approach and the concern of a pictorial aesthetic. However, Aurelia does not resort to photomontage and her paintings and stagings are sometimes real challenges.
