Cécile Colombo is an artist from Marseille. She studied at the Beaux Arts before pursuing her training as a plastic artist of the environment, architecture and urban decoration. Cécile Colombo is a multi-talented artist: drawing and painting but also ceramics and furniture. The guideline of her endless creation are the world of illustration, colour, good humour and… Provence.
Bathers in their best clothes, fish in graphic dresses, travel journals or whimsical still lives are all subjects that she likes to explore with mischievous freedom.
Her paintings offer a great variety of techniques and materials: ink, acrylic, watercolour, collage on paper pasted on canvas or on cardboard. Her enamelled ceramics of tonic colours are sometimes creations of white clay entirely made in the workshop, or decorations on raw biscuits from the best Provençal workshops.
To say that Cécile Colombo’s work is refreshing is an understatement, it is a universal remedy against gloom. Full of life and joyful colours, each piece of work is full of details that we discover or rediscover with each contemplation. To be consumed without moderation.
A Sunday at the beach, a group of girlfriends, arm in arm, water up to their knees..."Filles en bleu (uk)" is a painting from the series of Bathers by Cécile Colombo.
