Biography of Perrine Rabouin
Perrine Rabouin has seen life with wonder since childhood, and the harmonies she picks up are the source of her colourful and enthusiastic painting. She navigates between her two studios, open to nature, between Paris and the South of France, according to the seasons, in search of the purest and most stimulating energy and light.
After many years devoted to drawing from living models, her transposition of the real has shifted towards a poetic and sensual abstraction that invites the imagination, of each one to continue the path initiated by the work. At the same time, part of her work continues to explore figuration: reproducing simple forms and raw materials with elegance and poetry.
A colourist by heart, Perrine Rabouin works vigorously, drawing out the architecture from coloured masses, to achieve a solid composition, watching for the emergence of the unknown in these areas of colour. Oil paint, acrylic and pastel hold her favors, on canvas or on paper.
Perrine Rabouin’s work attracts the eye thanks to the strength and subtlety of her colours and harmonies, but also due to her use of atypical formats: miniature paintings, vertical works and panoramic formats also contribute to the singularity of her work.
