The Alpilles and its magnificent landscapes have inspired many artists, from Van Gogh to Alphonse Daudet.

In this “walking map” of the Alpilles, Amandine Maria offers a cartographer and poet’s vision. She borrows from the cartographic tradition the outline of the sketch, which cuts out the silhouette of a mountain range and indicates the names of the peaks. In “Alpilles” the artist adds an artistic dimension with textual comments that accompany this delicate and dynamic outline.
