“Bar at Leuven – uk” is a contemporary painting by the artist Duytter.

THE PHOTOGRAPHIC AESTHETIC

In his paintings as well as in his washes, Duytter’s work is reminiscent of the photographic aesthetic. One can observe the framing, the perspective, the composition, the light and its localised flashes, but also the banality of an interior scene taken ‘on the spot’ and fixed for eternity.
