The orange sky over Sainte Victoire “Louis Brauquier promenade” or the pleasure of strolling in the Phocaean city.
“Louis Brauquier Promenade” is a drawing by Amandine Maria. The artist in her work gives pride of place to the most majestic sites of her region of Provence and in particular the city of Marseille. This site, entirely turned towards the sea, is one of the most pleasant spots in Marseille. One is fascinated by the quality of the details retranscribed in Indian ink and watercolor. The historical buildings tell the story of the city’s great projects, both ancient and contemporary. The Mucem, Fort Saint-Jean or the Pharo Palace.
Finally, we take the time to read the notes written by the artist to restore the nature of the site and the memories of her walk. Amandine Maria evokes the sensations of the moment: “the sound of the train”, “sitting here, orange light, blue sky”.
The choice of ink and watercolor paint contributes to the delicacy and meticulousness of the drawing, simultaneously realistic and poetic.
With “Louis Brauquier Promenade” we discover Marseille differently, through the eyes of an artist who walks, generous with details. This drawing would form a beautiful diptych with “Corniche Kennedy“, or “The sea wall“, of the same orientation and format.
Discover the artist"Mistral in the back", a drawing of the mythical Sainte Victoire mountain, so dear to Paul Cézanne.
