“Psychedelic Heart – uk” by James Cochran aka Jimmy C, is a spray paint on canvas.

James Cochran’s urban art can be seen in many places around the world, particularly in Europe. The street artist, although Australian, works in his studio in London. In France, his murals can be seen in Vitry-sur-Seine, an open-air showcase of Parisian urban art. The city’s murals and festivals are now a must for street art connoisseurs.

The heart motif is recurrent in the Street Art work of James Cochran. It evokes an aspect of his personality as an artist: his confidence in the emotion, the heart, rather than in the intellect, the head. It is above all a form of blaze, the signature of his street (he)art, a message of love that he considers essential, a gift offered to the passer-by.

His most emblematic fresco of hearts, with a dimension of 20 meters by 5, “London Hearts”, was painted in Borough Market in London in 2018 as a tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of June 2017. Eight hearts, one for each life stolen near this bridge…

In this heart motif we can see most of the elements that make up the unique style of this endearing artist. A mix between the now classic pointillism, the dot painting techniques of aboriginal art, and drip painting. But also references to the history of art, from impressionism to graffiti.
