Sitting Puppy 2 	SB2, a three-dimensional ultramarine blue and gold painting.
SB2 “Small Box 2” by Eric Robin is a three-dimensional composition in crumpled paper of square format.
In this painting the artist uses a matte paper carefully painted and prepared with this unique ultramarine blue color. He cuts, folds and crumples with precise gestures. He glues in layers, creating a composition in relief full of subtlety, whose play of shadows strongly accentuates the contrasts. It is in the vibrancy of the textures that one recognizes the formal signature of the artist.
The simple abstract structure of the square combines harmoniously with the random and organic form of the folding.
We like Eric Robin’s boxes that accentuate the precious effect of his crumpled papers. The duality between the crumpled paper and the impeccable final composition is particularly striking. As in a case, the paper becomes a jewel. It can be exhibited on the wall or on the floor, in solo or in diptych, and above all, a maximum of light is sought to take advantage of the superb velvetiness of the painting.
With SB2 there is no risk of embarrassing reflections, the optical glass is there… The light and the location will be the best friends of this unusual object. It would make a nice diptych with SB1
