“St-Baume”, Provence inspires artists.
“St-Baume” is a drawing by Amandine Maria.
Amandine Maria is a lover of the landscapes of her native Provence. As an artist and cartographer, she revisits these mythical places that have inspired so many artists.
The Sainte Baume massif, to the east of Marseille, extends as far as the Var. Amandine Maria proposes a vision of it as a cartographer and poetess. She borrows from the cartographic tradition the outline of the sketch, which cuts out the silhouette of a mountain range and indicates the names of the peaks. In “St-Baume” the artist adds an artistic dimension with textual comments that accompany this delicate and dynamic outline.
