“The hidden octopus”, panorama inspired by the landscapes of Provence.
“The Hidden Octopus” is a luminous contemporary painting from the series of “Travel Diary”. There are always a thousand details to discover in these paintings by Cécile Colombo.
Cécile Colombo excels in the creation of fanciful landscapes that she calls “Travel Diary”. At first sight, what is obvious is the colour, the bath of freshness that this wide panorama offers us. One of the major characteristics of Cécile Colombo’s painting is the use of tonic, but subtle colours: few primary colours, cameos of blues and greens, and always white paint and black ink which come to let the colour breathe, to give lightness to her abundant landscapes.
In “The hidden octopus”, Cécile Colombo also mixes techniques: acrylic paint, watercolour, pastel, Indian ink, collage, writing… a rich picture in which you want to get lost.
And still boats, fish, huts, washing in the windows and a host of charming little details to discover: a piece of Provence to offer yourself to believe you are there all year round.
